A parent has the ability to continue pushing forward even when their fuel tank is at empty

Words of Affection

Genuine words of affection to a child does a lot for the child’s sense of security. He or she feels a sense of approval, pride, and most importantly he or she feels loved. A child that grows up without hearing the words “I love you,” or similar words of affection, is at risk for insecure relationships with both parents and others. As a child grows up, there are countless times a parent is frustrated with them, and let’s that frustration show. It is important for the loving words to outweigh those moments of frustration so that a child will never question their parent’s love towards them. For every 1 word of criticism, make sure there are at least 5 words of praise; for every 1 word of frustration, make sure there are least 5 words of love.
